Celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Arts in FOCUS series at West Kentucky Community and Technical College!  We respectfully request your support as we begin a new season of exciting entertainment and educational opportunities.  Join us in October as we kick off the season with a wonderful performance of Chicago Festival Ballet’s Cinderella.  In December, get into the holiday spirit with the WKCTC Community Chorus Holiday Concert.   January will have you dancing down memory lane as The Taffetas take you on a musical journey through the fabulous fifties. In February, Downstairs Cabaret Theatre’s From My Hometown tells the story of three young soul singers who meet at the world famous Apollo Theatre in 1980 in search of the American Dream of fame and fortune. April brings the WKCTC production of the off-Broadway musical comedy, Little Shop of Horrors. The WKCTC Community Chorus POPS Concert will conclude the season in May.

We are pleased to continue The Campus Series, targeting students and young audiences; The Keynote Series featuring prominent speakers; and Backstage Pass, an acoustic music series in a coffeehouse setting on our stage.  The WKCTC Lobby Gallery will be busy with eight wonderful visual art exhibits.  Your 2007-08 brochure will arrive later this summer and will provide you with more details.

Education is important to us and we will continue to offer diverse opportunities to students and community members. Our work with Paducah Parks Services and the Paducah Housing Authority continues with a chorus featuring children from Paducah Housing Authority sites. In addition, local dancers will be selected to perform with the Chicago Festival Ballet in their production of the classical ballet, Cinderella.   Theatre workshops and showcases of student work will be offered in the fall and spring semesters.

Many things have changed over 40 years but our sincere desire to provide quality entertainment and arts opportunities at affordable prices remains the same.  Please make a commitment to the arts and education today by becoming a contributor to the arts in FOCUS series!  To subscribe, call me at (270) 534-3213 or Julie Moore at (270) 534-3212.
